FREAK SHOW explored stories of side show performers and the label 'FREAK' - how do we 'otherize' people different from us, how do we exploit those difference, and ultimately how can we humanize those who may scare us?
All actors, directors and playwrights met in a room for the first time on Saturday, July 23rd at 8PM. All were randomly assigned to teams and had just one short hour to review the prompt and decide what to do with the random props the actors brought. Each playwright was randomly assigned a freak show story from history. All playwrights went to their homes to write through the night and have a complete titled script submitted by 7:00 the next morning. Learn more about the artists on our blog. |
