The Dirty Blondes brought together a group of daring and salacious playwrights, directors, and actors to conceive, write, and perform seven short plays over the course of 24 hours. The culminating performance at Galapagos Art Space featured seven original 10-minute plays centered on each of the "seven deadly sins" and set in modern day New York City. Ashley Jacobson & Alexandra Siladi teamed up to create immoral interludes performed throughout the night.
All actors, directors and playwrights met in a room for the first time on Saturday, February 9th. All were randomly assigned to teams (seven playwrights, seven directors, and twenty actors), randomly assigned a sin and had just one short hour to review what props the actors had brought and possible themes.
All playwrights went to their homes to write through the night and have a complete titled script submitted by 7:00 the next morning.
